Cool 1st tank

Just posted my 1st tank. Alot of work went into getting 35.1 mpg out of the 05 accord sedan. I was expecting 36 to 38 mpg for that kinda work. Coasting my **** off 37 psi front tires, 35 psi rear... The road noise sucked. Speed limit or under <<< thats was hard.

O well will see what I can get out of the next one.

first few tanks are never great. It sounds like you did pretty well actually. It took my civic hybrid about 5000 miles to truly break in to the point of getting great tanks. You can look at my log on GH (I need to update it), I started out around 36 and found it quite hard to hold onto a 40mpg tank. Now I am able to sustain 50 or better.

Hi Psyshack:

___Nice job on your first true hypermiling tank. Another 4 just like that and you will qualify for the hypermiler list! Just thinking about all those 7th gen Accord pilots still receiving 25 or less should tell you that you are doing a great job by all accounts

___Good Luck

Best I can tell. We have been ave. around 27 to 28 mpg on the car since we bought it. Ive seen 32 mpg on a 400 mile trip at standard tire psi, AC on foot to the floor and hard braking and hoisting inside rear wheel in nice tight bowl shaped hair pin corners. I can drive its wheels off and all but roll the beads off the rims and get mpg out of the car. Wife gets in it and needle falls faster than her *****... I have no doubts that I could have got my goal or better if she hadnt driven it 30 miles a day on this tank.

Buts I love her.

35 on the 1st tank ROCKS! No break-in, and who knows what the dealer did on that tank before you got it.
