Just filled up my Opal Silver Blue HCH w/CVT. Went 504 miles when the low fuel symbol came on. Put in 11.408 gals. and averaged 45.0 mpg. Tires were intially set to 26/27 by the dealer and I raised them to 34 and now 38. Overall impressions are GREAT! Love the color and style. The instruments are mezmerizing and very easy to see, day or night. Some odds and ends: the dipstick in the windshield washer resevoir. Red rear turn signals instead of orange. Noisey tires. Comfortable seats. Awkward cargo net set up. Auto-stop is great, almost zen like quiet. The car had 3 (!!) miles on it when I test drove it, I had ordered it so no one else could drive it, and 12 when I picked it up. One last question, how can you display the radio station that is playing, or the CD track, after the radio display has gone back to clock mode? P.S.: I will reach 50 mpg, Oh yes a 600 mile tank will be mine!!

Yes, Grasshopper, you WILL reach 50mpg.
And after you get a 600 mile tank, go for 650, and 700!!

I usually get 680mi per tank, plus or minus 30mi...

Welcome, I have an 04 HCH CVT in the opal blue.
Yes it is a beautiful car.

I don't think you can change the display on the stereo, sorry.

You mileage will go up as you get into it.

Have fun; I LOVE my HCH

It IS Zen-like.
The anti-car.

Welcome Connecticut.

rpdog is right. I too remember when I used to struggle to get 600 miles. I now get over 600 regularly. I've only hit 700 miles once so far, and I had to literally run myself out of gas to do it, so I think I have found the outer limits of my particular driving style, but 650 to 700 miles on 12 gallons of gas is still pretty **** good.

Now if you really want to reach a Zen state, I recommend getting a satelite radio and cruise down the road listening to Sirius Blues 29 while getting 55 MPG.

It's a truly beautiful thing.
