I got 2 Duralast cheap today @AutoZone and they are lifetime guaranteed..with your phone number they pull up a set of Ceramic Brake disc pads for my old dakota last year.. these seem the ideal candidate for them(and I didn't feel so guilty getting loaner tools for the tie rods) the Moogs(problem solver they brand them) got half bad reviews like you wrote..

waiting on tie rods; tomorrow/Monday.. doing passenger side now, got the inner loose [luckily] with a cheap 1 1/4 wrench..AutoZone tool didn't fit
they aren't real bad, outer boots shot with some grease{wifes out town so it was hard to see what moved when I wiggled wheel}, maybe other sides bad
the stabilizer links don't look too bad either, nor can I feel it move when I yank on it... it is aluminum in an + shape w/o zerk fittings, the replacements are round steel with grease fittings(debating weather to wait on those(maybe ford made a few good ones
)
my big jack is across the river in the garage at other house.. I'm at the old farm so I have a little jack thus doing one side at a time. Also thought it would give more accurate replacement from the two measurements I made but just realized that shouldn't change for replacement; I guess if I get drivers side off, too. I guess?
waiting on 2 cabin air filters also, did yours have one under the cowl or did ford leave every bodies out as I'm reading?
I guess zip ties work fine on the boots, going out now for loktite and advance rent a tool

My '07 came without a cabin air filter installed, probably all did. I bought a high quality furnace filter at Lowes and just cut a piece to fit, much cheaper than the Ford filter.

yeah here is Eric the car guy who's sons was missihttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67M4Iq4Sgosng ..all probably were missing..
they need sued over that....
made one for my 92 dakota and had to silicone it in.
still only found tools 1/16 of an inch larger and smaller, maybe new tie rod will be larger/smaller..

got my parts(look nice) and loaner tool will work. thinking about torquing with a quick spurt from my old impact and 110lb portable compressor.. I think it calls for 80 ft lb but I wonder if its more /less stress on steering box ![Tongue](https://electricvehicleforums.com/forums/images/smilies/emotikons/tongue.gif)
may not get a chance for a week with this rain forecast, torrential outside now..creek just receded from most of pasture and backyard a week ago...
