Default Repair Manual

Is there any thing like a Chilton's for the 2009 FEH? I'm not about to take anything apart--just want to know a little about what's there. Julian

Yes, I recommend the workshop manuals by Helms who print them for Ford. I highly recommend you get the PCM/ED manual for the '09 FEH/MMH from Helms also. The workshop manuals just came out within the last month or so and I'm waiting to get a set on Ebay. I could not wait for the '09 PCM/ED manual which became available last Sep. so I paid retail fot that one from Helms.

I got the '05 complete set on Ebay for $110 after I bought my '05 FEH and they've really helped me over the years. Here is a link to Helminc.com:

I agree, ebay is a great resource to find the manuals. I got the entire set for my '07 for only $59 plus $10 to ship. It is volumes I and II, plus wiring diagram and the extra emissions manual. There are many, many online on Ebay.

$170.00 + $63 for the wiring diagram. Wow, that is not cheap. I thought Chrysler/Dodge manuals were high priced at $95 each (+$20 for electrical). Do check eBay for competing prices!

To go along with factory manuals, also consider getting a DTC Scan Tool. That is a generic name for the device that plugs into a vehicle's data port, and displays any and all Diagnostic Trouble Codes, plus internal sensor readings. The ScanGauges that people on here use to track MPGs use the same port, and they are sort of mini versions of a full featured DTC tool.

Chilton's are OK if you cannot find anything else. They try to cover many vehicles and so frequently do not cover your car well.

While your car is new split for the shop manuals by the manufacturer. They will always cover your car well since they are written for their own mechanics to use in warranty work (which they want them to get right the first time).
