My daughter took my FEH to North Carolina this summer and left me driving my old Dodge Dakota. I track the actual fuel fills on my iPhone for my vehicles. Fuel economy in the Dakota averages between 17-18 miles per gallon. Over the weekend the FEH returned to the roost.

Last night I needed to travel the rolling blue highways of northeast MO over to my mother's house. I was in no particular hurry along the way. So I put all my P & G knowledge to work (it's amazing to me how much I've learning over the last year. I had to relearn how to drive a vehicle-thanks to all of you!)! I had to stop for a few minutes at my house, and for a few minutes at my mother's house and then I went out for pizza so I decided to get some fuel and see what my mileage was for the 40 miles from work to my mother's house. So even with two shutdowns (which resulted in the engine running for a couple minutes on restart my actual mileage was 57.96 mpg (the display was showing 66 mpg). It is amazing to me to think that I burned less than .7 of a gallon to drive 40 miles. I had to spend the night and drove to work this morning (in a bit of a hurry because I was late) and the FEH was reporting about 32 mpg for the trip back. It goes to show that if you put your skills to works, you can really make these babies perform. I love my FEH (at least until the MECS pump breaks or the regen braking system fails or the blend door shoots craps and I have to fight with the dealer Hope everyone has a good day today and enjoys their FEH!
