John is right...what you are seeing on your speedometer is inaccurate. In fact, as far as I can tell from driving through radar displays, my speedometer is at least 10% high at 40 mph or more. It is the one thing I pointed out in great detail on the various customer satisfaction surveys just after I purchased the FEH. The quality/precision/design of all the instruments - they don't even compare to the ones in my 1969 VW beetle. I started to research the shop manual to see if there is a re-calibration procedure, but I haven't gotten around to it.
