I read in another post that double-tapping the brakes will put you into EV mode. Is this true, and if so for all year models? I tried it on my '09 and it didn't seem to work. What are the conditions for this technique to work?

x2 - doesn't seem to work on either of the 06 models I have.

 

I'm still fairly new to my 08 FEH, but it works for me as long as the car has warmed up enough for the emissions system to be at temperature, the battery SOC isn't too low (though I don't have a ScanGauge to know), and I'm below 40 mph - and of course the Econ button is on.

Ray, you have a '09 FEH which does not need any brake taps to go EV. What I think is your problem is you have the A/C On in Econ with the temperature set to low. I hate my Econ mode and don't use it because you have to turn the temperature up to high for it to work. Turn Off the A/C after warm-up and you should go EV any time under 40mph my simply letting Off the gas pedal. The brake tap only works on the '05 - '08 FEH/MMH.
