Highest Mile Escape

Re: Highest Mile Escape
Update 2 years later.
Now at 185,000 miles on 2005 FEH. Needed new Abs timing ring on driver front axle (broke), and a re-flash of the electronic brake mechanism (and most important- a new application of "special grease" just for that purpose to ensure a good contact. Both combined less than $150. Still original front brakes, no other issues except a replacement radio (the CD changer went out and I always use for audiobooks when driving- $85 on eBay.) No signs of corrosion, undercarriage excellent. Ready for tires and plugs in 10k.

Re: Highest Mile Escape
My '05 FEH with 4wd just hit the 227200 mile mark. My FEH is a personal vehicle & I am the original owner. It is on its 4th set of tires (average 70,000 miles per set.)
I have the oil changed every 5000 miles along with a tire rotation.
The only "by the book" service I give it is the 100K mile service as this also changes the coolant in both cooling systems and changed the spark plugs.
At first, my service advisor keeps asking me if I think it will hit 300K. Then when he saw my odometer after it flipped 200K, he said he definitely thinks it will make 300 K. They told me my FEH has definitely has the most miles than any Escape they service.
The only major issues I've had was a leak in an air conditioning valve, a faulty electric water pump (found ~175K miles), and 2 axil bearings. When I gave it a 200K mile service, the valve cover gasket was found to be leaking when the spark plugs were changed.

Re: Highest Mile Escape
Two different 06 Mariners, both got up to about 190k miles with exactly ONE repair needed: The MECS pump. That is it. Original brakes on one of them went 170k miles.
Unfortunately, both gave their lives in protection of their occupants when someone else did something critically stupid and caused accidents. Sad, they seemed like they would go on indefinitely.
New replacement is an 06 FEH, bought with 141k on it and with the old style MECS pump. Had to replace the AC compressor on this one b/c the original was still working... Barely. The rest of the vehicle seems to be in fantastic condition.
