Thanks for posting that Walt. It confirms what I had guessed to be the case all along - in the event of an accident, inertia switches shut off everything. So, if a vehicle is damaged enough that someone needs to be cut out of the vehicle then chances are the fuel and power are both killed.
I have asked several of my police, firefighter and EMT friends about the training they get regarding hybrid vehicles. None have had any formal training but none are terribly concerned about rescuing someone from a hybrid. A FF friend told me that the new guys are getting some training on hybrids in the academy. I think I will email the pdf file to him.
