It's my primary means of support. (It paid for the new truck.)

Buy now and take the full tax credit and use it to pay down your auto loan. IMHO I feel that the 09 FEH will have great resale value to use as a trade in if you want to upgrade in two or three years.

Hey Gary, I thought I remember you saying that you were going to get the new Prius for your wife? Guess you changed your mind?

Edit: Nevermind, I see your seperate thread about this subject.

This was just posted on the Hybridcars.com site:

Make
Model
Credit Amount
Ford
Escape Hybrid 2WD
$3,000
Ford
Escape Hybrid 4WD
$1,950
Mercury
Mariner Hybrid 2WD
$3,000
Mercury
Mariner Hybrid 4WD
$1,950

It appears the '09 4WD tax credit has been reduced.

That apparently was updated in July, 2008, about a 10% drop.

You can see all models/years here: http://fueleconomy.gov/feg/tax_hybrid.shtml

I guess I'm not going to sweat $250.

Don't count on getting the full tax credit. If you end up being affected by an AMT calculation that credit can be wiped out pretty quick.
