Buy 2009 FEH now or wait for 2010?

Actually, customized vehicles tend to get less of a trade than stock. Just because it looks better to you doesn't mean it'll look better to someone else! Also, people tend to wonder about the quality of the parts and installation of aftermarket gadgets...
Don't expect the dealer to 'wheel and deal' with you too much on this. The FEH is in very high demand, and if you don't want to pay their price, I'm sure someone else will soon. They know this.
The only thing you've really got going for you right now is low car sales, and low(er) gas prices... for the time being.

The Instrument cluster is WAY better for the 2010 Fusion and Milan.
If this trickles down to the Escape ( and why not? ) it would be well worth it to wait for the 2010.
One reason why I have been very content with my 2005 is, there really have not been significant updates or improvements in 5 years.
Minor tweaks, yes, for sure have occured over the years.
In computer terms, Ford is still building v1.x in my book.

If the lower gas prices hang around, you may find a deal on your hybrid. I bought mine in January 2007 (a low point in gas prices) and got a $3500 rebate on top of the tax credit.
Or gas prices may soar again and you'll wish you'd bought it.

Well, that's over. Their first offer was within $1k of what I thought, but they politely held their ground and later offered to let me keep my wheels so I accepted. They could have finished off the paperwork tonight but suggested the 4 banks that offer the best deals closed at 6, so I'll take possession late tomorrow morning.
When asked about swapping in a factory nav, I was told it was possible, but would involve swapping out the entire center column, radio, heater control, etc. so would be very labor intensive. FWIW, this dealer only gets 2 FEH's a year and this was number 1, but a 6-10 month wait would have killed me.

Hi.
My local dealer has a 2009 4wd limited in the lot and will take my first test drive on Monday. I doubt it has all the features I want (leather, sunroof, nav) and green wasn't my first choice.
I've read there's new features coming soon (smaller battery pack, etc) and wonder if it's worth waiting. There's also something to be said about not having to order and wait half a year either.
