Default 2010 FEH Limited with SSN and multiple codes - Help!

My wife's FEH with 142K miles on it has been relatively trouble free. We drove from NC to MO back in June to move our daughter. That's when we got a wrench light with P0A7C code ONLY when we hit 65+mph. FEH drove fine though - every time we turned off the engine and restarted, wrench was gone and didn't come back until we got on the highway again. About 5 or 6 weeks ago, my wife told me the wrench light came on during her regular around-town routes (35 - 50mph), but no drivability issues. I used FORScan and it gave me the same P0A7C code. I checked the MECS pump (it had been replaced a few years ago) and it was running but making a louder noise than expected and so the advice was to replace it. So 2 weekends ago I changed the eCVT transmission fluid with Ford-spec ATF, and then last weekend I drained the MECS system and installed a new MECS pump (including air bleeding procedure) with Motorcraft gold coolant as per spec for my vehicle. Ran great for 5 days, but then my wife calls in a panic because her FEH all of a sudden wouldn't go more than 35 to 45 mph and had some erratic throttle response. I said, oh-oh, that is limp mode. Pull over and turn off the Escape, wait a couple of minutes and try it then. She said everything started up fine and drove home without any further issues. I connected FORScan and it pulled a bunch of codes, but none were active now. I checked everything out and reset the codes and then said lets see if it happens again. Same thing happened again yesterday - this time the stop/then restart cleared the wrench but the CEL was illuminated when she got home (no drivability issues).

Here is the list of codes in the system (plus FORScan log dump):
  • DTCs in PCM: P0A18:00-28, P0A23:00-28, P0A7C:00-28, P1A14:00-28, P2112:00-AC
  • DTCs in OBDII: P2112-C
  • DTCs in ACCM: P0AFA:16-28
  • DTCs in TCM: P1A0A-FF, P1A03-FF, P1A04-FF
What the?? I was expecting the P0A7C by itself and why I replaced the MECS pump, but now 9 other codes show (just 2 weeks ago only 1 code was in there)? I have a feeling that something triggered the vehicle to go into Limp mode which then caused a cascade of other codes to trigger...??? Is this a possibility? I am focusing on the P2112 codes as that is " Throttle Actuator 'A' Control System - Stuck Closed " and this seems to be a fairly common issue with the throttle body on Escapes/Fusions for this build-period, and would definitely cause the throttle issues and I think a SSN message/limp mode event. Should I start there/replacing the TB and this could be the reason for the other codes being thrown, or where do I start? Thank you in advance for any guidance!

Clean or replace the TB and make sure the mecs is actually running. Check battery hybrid voltages and a/c.

Thanks Shady - I'll R&R and clean the TB today. MECS is running, as I can hear it, feel the fluid moving in the lines, and when I bled the system, there was a strong stream coming out of the bleeder hole when I turned the MECS pump on. So check the high voltage battery pack - will look those procedures up. A/C has been working - not sure what else to do there unless it requires bringing to a shop to check pressures?

What doesn't make sense is that less than two weeks ago only had one code, and then suddenly Limp Mode and many codes....still thinking most of these were triggered by a single event??

They do all say not present. Maybe still set from when you had the weak mecs.

Possibly. I ran the onboard system check thru the Instrument Cluster messaging display and the system came back with Hybrid battery check is OK. FEH started up OK, (noticed a little high idle fluctuations) and ICE ran for about 2 minutes and then it shut off and went into EV mode, so I'll take that as vehicle is OK with the high voltage battery/ICE charging operation... CEL is still on (triggered by the P2112 throttle body code ). New TB ordered and should be here in a couple of days. Will do the 12V battery disconnect/install new TB and MAF cleaning, and then see what happens to the codes and operation. Fingers crossed.
