For DavidH:
Thanks for the info. I had been looking to see where I could find the number of satellites being read and the GPS altitude. Too bad they buried it on a diagnostics page. Most GPS systems make it easily available. The GPS altitude data did not appear to be corrected to Mean Sea Level, as most units are these days.

Thanks for the response!
As for the mechanical installation - I've read after posting that you can purchase a replacement bezel from Ford for about $80 that will allow the installation of the 2008 Nav/ Radio unit; however AC controls will need to be repositioned.
I'm sure you're right that the system programming is different, however, making the above a moot point!

Now you piqued my curiousity. Do you have the Ford P/N for that replacement bezel???

not to hijack the thread-- I have a 2008 MMH with factory nav but no satellite and I'm looking to input my ipod with the nav head unit controlling & charging the ipod (like GM's Personal Audio Link)-- not just using the auxilary input port on the dash. Any ideas?

For controlling, I think you need/want Sync, which for FEH/MMH will not be available until '09. Now, there is of course the speculation about retrofit back to the '08 NAV units.
