Default 2006 ford escape hybrid 2wd disable brake system

I have a 2006 FEH 2WD with 150,000 mikes. The front suspension is shot and my driver's side wheel bearing is starting to go. I do not want to bring it to the dealer because he wants to charge me 1100 dollars for a new wheel bearing and inner and outer tie rod ends. I would bring it to a regular mechanic but I want to make sure I tell them the right way to disable the regenerative braking system. I believe you remove the two fuses in the junction box and disconnect the battery; then you are good to remove the calibers. Does this sound correct?

Forgive me for being stupid guys but doesn't the brake pressurization just pressurize the brake accumulator? I don't think the calipers are pressurized unless someone presses on the brake pedal.

I will admit that I am more familiar with Toyota's but I have never pulled any fuses when putting front brake pads on a hybrid car.

You are probably correct and you don't have to remove the fuses but why take chances? When I did the brakes on both of my Escapes, I removed both fuses AND disconnected the 12V battery. I waited until after the brake system depressurized before doing any of the above. Again, probably overkill but I certainly wasn't going to take any chances. I followed the procedure from the service manual and it went very well.
