I've been waiting to get info on the 2006 models because I wanted a moonroof and wanted to see if it was going to be an option on the 2006 model. Well today I got a copy of the 2006 options and prices and read that the moonroof is only available in the premium package. Well I like the look of the silver at the bottom of the appearance package with the Titanium Green body color. Now with the premium package the exterior of the Escape is one solid color which I don't think I like as much, but I haven't seen a picture of a solid color one yet. So now I have a choice of silver at the bottom or a moonroof. Nice of Ford to make the choices complicated, I think that with the "premium" package you should get the choice of the fascias color (silver or body color) or allow the moonroof option on the appearance package.

 

That just is odd! Why would Ford do that, I haven't seen the pictures yet, but I imagine it doesn't look nearly as nice. I love the way my titanium green and silver blends together. Tough choice here, buddy.

 

Hopefully Ford will get the options right as we go along. There are only 10K of the 2006 available at this point until this September when a decision will be made to shift to the Mariner or stay with another 10K (or more) 2006 FEHs. From what I know the 2006 is selling well so we take what we can. Hopefully in the next month I can tell you that the appearance pack and moonroof and extras will be on the Mariner.
