I have a 2005 escape hybrid,automatic
does any one know if the cv axles are same as the standard escape automatic.
Im getting clicking sound when turning wheel.

Did you purchase this vehicle recently as a used one? Do you have the service history? Items in the front suspension can also be making this noise.

 

I bought it used with 60k on it now I have 160k only trouble that I have had since owning it.
what else can make a clicking sound when i turn wheel.

I can't say with certainty if they are the same, but I was able to get one for the right side from O'Reilly's. It was remaned, but looked prestine. The core on that item is pretty high, about $70 as I recall. The CV axle was only about $60 I think. It did take them a day to get it, but if you live in a large market, chances are you can have it the same day.

Oh, should say mine's an '06 MMH but I'm pretty sure they'd be the same.

I just found out the right side is the same as a reg. escape so I can get a replacement at local parts store for about $50

but the left side is made for hybrid and i will have to get from Ford for about $300.

Im going to check to see if getting it rebuilt will be be worth it.
