I believe mine is located on top of the rear view mirror.

There's also something to the right of the steering wheel in the dash, could that be it? There's a little grill thing with something metal behind it.

Sean thanks for the review. From someone that has a 08 FEH with Nav and a very good Garmin Nuvi Unit in the other car I can say the Navigation part of even the 08 is poor.

Why can I got search for things when the car is moving? Perhaps the argument is becuase I am the driver and I would be distracted. But when my wife is in the car with me we can't use it either. That is POOR.

If the 09 has less streets than the 08 that is just inexcusable. The roads are already poorly out of date in my city (Vegas - the fastest growing city) and the routings are often poor on the FEH (vs the Nuvi).

But the biggest disapoitment is the lack of POIs in the Ford Nav system. How am I susposed to navigate to a food place when only 1/6th the number of places are listed. A Garmin nav unit has something like 7.5 million POIs vs the Ford unit that only has like 1.4 million points.

I would consider buying the new Nav DVD but unless Ford puts a signifigant amount of POIs on it and has a massive update on the roads then it is a complete waste of money (and I'll point out the Garmin update is only like $60 vs $150 for the Ford).

Just my 2 cents between the 08 FEH and a quality portable Nav unit.

2 mics on top of the rearview mirror.... Even without the Nav I think it's up there..

I am posting this information as MY opinion. If you disagree, SHARE IT, but please don't FLAME it.

When requesting hev info on the 09, you must hit the info button then the hev touch screen button. On the 08 you hit one info button and it went right to the hev screen.
I totally agree.

The 08 was a 6 disc, the 09 is only one. Yes we know about the "jukebox" feature. It's a pia to load the music.
And what's with the Jukebox playing right where it left off as soon as you select it? There's no Stop button! It would be much simpler if you could load compressed files onto the Jukebox rather than having it rip.

The 08 did not have sync, but we have found the voice controls to be completely useless. The sync picks the wrong choice 98% of the time. Both my wife and I have done the voice recognition and with or without, the system really does not work at all for us.
I find it recognizes fine, but wow it's a long process to play a song or switch radio stations. You shouldn't have to start over again if you want to stay in the same media mode.

With the 08, the time and date always stayed on the "top" info center regardless of the radio being on or off. With the 09, as soon as you turn the radio on the time and date disappear, yet they DON'T show on the radio (without pressing buttons), this REALLY is a step backwards for us.

In my message center, only 'AM' or 'PM' appear. Dealership can't help me. Anyone else have this issue? Can it be fixed/de-bugged?

There are some significant improvements on the 09feh, I don't feel that the nav/sync system is one of them.

My top navigation status bar only displays the direction. No other icon appears (ext. temp, fan, etc.) Anyone have any suggestions?

Sean
Thanks for the post and the conversation, man.

Sync playing the wrong song is MUCH less embarrassing than when it dials the wrong number or contact!!

I think the less colors on the 08 actually made it easier to read at a glance as opposed to the "prettier" colors on the 09. I think the 08 was just greyscale.

On the plus side, the 09 plays DVD's great, we just need a hack to get that working while moving. (I know why it's blocked out). The 08 did not play dvd's.

I noticed that on other nav/sync systems they are able to CHOOSE from several color schemes.. WHY can't we do that on the FEH??? (they have a button for it)...
I would love to try some other ones to see if the mpg stands out more to my eye!

Sean
I think you have an issue with the firmware on your daughter's nano. My nano plays perfectly and charges just fine in my 09 FEH when I use the usb cable. When I use an AUX cable it does not play but my daughter's touch works fine with the AUX cable.

Only a few things for you....

Try hitting the [i] button twice. That will take you to the HEV screen. This also works for any menu in sync. I find myself using this multi-tap to get around the info screen the most.

I did have some trouble with my dash top screen. When I first got my 09. The time would freeze then display the "current" time w/ date. ergo like when the radio is off. So I could, kind of, see how long I was on the road. Now, I can't get it to repeat the "problem." such is life.

As for your touch screen not having more than N,E,S,W... have you hooked up your phone via bluetooth. If that does not show... you might have a problem... not saing you don't have one...

Well I hope you can fig out the rest of these really small problems you're having with this great SUV!

Best of luck!
