Looks like a minor issue, but still a recall. Found this article in USA Today.

Ford recalling '06 SUVs, pickups over wiper motor WASHINGTON (AP) — Ford Motor (F) is recalling about 235,000 pickups, vans and sport-utility vehicles from the 2006 model year because of potential problems with the windshield wiper motor.

 

I saw the same information in a couple of different places. It mentioned the 06 Escape but did not specifically include the 06 Escape Hybrid. I assume that the windshield wiper motor is the same for both, so the the hybrid also needs to be greased

 

My "Job 2" 2006 Escape Hybrid is part of the recall, so it does affect Escape Hybrids as well as regular 2006 Escapes.
