LOL, you're far too kind.

Looking at the Calender, I would be able to make any weekend after the 8th, and if there is something, it'll be easy enough to either shift it or cancel it as needed to make it out there.

Well, in lieu of having any sort of off road hybrid interest in SoCal, I've talked my wife into coming with me tomorrow up to Big Bear/Lake Arrowhead. I've got a few trail maps and we're going to see what this 4wd-i is worth on the Highlander. I'm hoping to have some nice pix and 'undamaging' trail stories to report if anyone's interested.

Well, I my wife and I went. For a brief description check out the post in the HiHy forum with the title "I took my Hybrid Highlander off road".

In lieu of anyone actually looking there; She's a beast off road. The 4wd-i is great cuz of the power transfer so wheels don't spin very much at all. That's why hardcore offroaders buy lockers. The only real forseeable problems with the Highlander are ground clearance: 7.3 inches and a lack of a low low gear selection.

You going to drive all the way or take the Lake Express ferry?

I'm leaning towards the ferry at the moment.

I will probably go for the 10:15AM (ET) trip on Friday so I can go to the ice cream GTG and the 7:00PM (CT) trip back on Saturday night.

"Here."

West Olive here. Between Grand Haven and Holland, right next to the "big lake". (Thats what I grew up calling Lake Michigan, even if Lake Superior is bigger.)

I'm a complete newbie to the site, but thought I'd say hey...
I'm in (Ann Arbor, Lansing and Kalamazoo) due to divided work/home week. I never knew other hybrid owners met and share techniques for improving mileage. Are there in Michigan Insight owners other than me here? I aspire to the golden mean of 90 mpg and am QUITE a ways from it.
