How to Blend Your Own Fuel, and Why You Should

Re: How to Blend Your Own Fuel, and Why You Should
This whole discussion, from the engine performance perspective not the national and corn side of things, is baloney.
The ethanol makes little difference to the engine. Go elsewhere and read a post worth reading.

Bill,
If an engine is purpose built for alcohol use and a "mixed use" E20 or E30 use, you can get a tremendous amount of power out of them. Alcohol has less of a tendency to pre-detonate than gasoline, the engine will run cooler and cleaner, you can run a higher compression ratio with it, burn cleaner as far as emissions are concerned and the engine has a tendency to last longer in racing situations.
However, the engine will burn almost twice as much alcohol as gasoline to do that and our goal should be to use LESS fuel, not more no matter the type of fuel
