This off-road focused luxury estate is loaded with features including a 750 HP variant boasting a near 200k price tag.

Porsche sparked a heavy amount of interest in the EV world when it released the Taycan not too long ago. Many people had differing opinions on the vehicle from its styling to its price, however, the overall response remained a positive one.

The German luxury brand is no stranger to doing their own thing while simultaneously staying remaining cutting-edge. Let’s not forget they have sold the 911 for countless decades and people still happily buy them.

They understand the recipe to success in their automotive niche and improve on the details with every new iteration. Their newest flip? The Taycan Cross Turismo.

On initial thought you might believe this implies the new model is a it is a crossover. However, in function, it is a off-road focused wagon model to pair along with the Taycan sedan.

What makes the Cross Turismo standout from the standard Taycan model?

There are some obvious key differences: an increased ride height, a gravel mode which raises the suspension and reduces traction control, a retuned suspension, and specific body work.

The Cross Turismo also comes standard with larger of two available battery packs, the 93.4 kWh unit. At the low end of the model lineup exists the Taycan 4 starting at about $90,000. The upper end features the supercar-like Turbo S model, boasting over 750 HP and a $190,000 price tag.

When the range between available models is over 6 figures, you can imagine that there is an insane amount of options available for the Cross Turismo. According to Porsche, it will offer the most options of any Porsche model, ever.

For example, the Offroad Design package raises the car an additional half an inch and applies protective covers to all the wheel arches to protect it from road debris. That is a cool $1,800 option.

How does YouTube feel about it?

So did you think Porsche could just add more interior space, more cargo room, and road clearance and that would convince everybody this is the next best thing? Well, as you might imagine, automotive journalists are not always easy to impress.

We did a little bit of a survey to get an idea of the general consensus on the new Cross Turismo.

Doug DeMuro

“I would say this car ticks every single box, just prepare to pay insane money….my favorite version of the Taycan…I would skip the sedan and definitely get this one.”

Doug’s overall score for the Taycan Cross Turmiso would be a 72, putting it directly head to head with it’s competitors, the Audi RS6 Avant and AMG GT63S 4-door, neither of which are EVs.

Rory Reid

“The star of the show is handling… people say electric cars can’t be engaging, I think you’re way off pal… I really do. Because this thing has personality in abundance. What a weapon.”

With 0-to-60 in 4.19 seconds in the gravel with launch control and 2.9 seconds on the tarmac, this wagon is essentially a off-road supercar.

Jonny Smith

“What it has over a Tesla? It has that cornering capability, I don’t know, that durable feeling…way way better quality than any Tesla I’ve ever been in.”

Matt Farah

“It gathers speed at a pace that a normal driver cannot handle… you could easily enter a corner going 50 to 60 mph faster than you should.”
