Set to begin production next year as a 2023 model, the bZ4X will be built on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform. This is the same platform Subaru is using for its first electric crossover, the Solterra. Toyota’s “BZ” naming structure stands for Beyond Zero and it will be the first of a new all-electric Toyota subbrand.
“The front-end is all of course is very smooth very sculpted. You have these LED headlights, which kind of remind me of the headlights you might find on a Supra with these individual LED diodes. You have some vents here, which I’m not entirely sure if they are entirely functional, and you have this very interesting distinctive LED daytime running light which should also be a LED turn signal,” said Bey. He further added, “You have these full-length LED taillights with this interesting design, which is kind of a little bit Lexus-like.”
The Toyota bZ4X concept rides on 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, a giant touch screen dominates the dashboard and acts as an infotainment display. A second screen is employed as the instrumentation display. The company has confirmed that its upcoming battery-powered crossover will get DC fast charging capabilities and will get all-wheel-drive as standard.
