Default Tires for 2001 Prius

I need to replace the tires on my 2001 Prius. The current set are Goodyear Aquatred 3 which I chose for a little more traction than the low rolling resistance Bridgestones which were OEM. The Aquatreds cut my mileage some and I'm willing to live with that, but it's been over 4 years since I bought those and I'm hoping that there are some better alternatives available. Any advice gratefully received.

Default Re: Tires for 2001 Prius

Hi,

I've been happy with the Sumitomo T4s, and picked up my second set this summer. The first set had completed 50,000 miles but a side-wall screw brought that experiment to an early end. But then I like low rolling resistance tires and run them at 51 psi. Others seem to like wider tires for better handling.
