The info I use is on the left door frame. That is where I get the 33, 35 psi (right, find 33 on an air gauge). So, I use a digital which I carry in my car. Still, I consider gauges suspect.
Anyway, it's the manufacture's suggestion. If I experience tire failure, I can honestly say I followed the rules.

In our Prius I usually set the tires to something higher than 55 psi, but lower than 60. That makes for excellent, long glides. The Insight's tires are rarely less than 60 psi for the same reason. OEM tires on the Prius with 40,000 miles on them and remarkably even tread wear. I always lower the pressure a bit in winter for better traction, but no lower than 44/44.
