Default In Service for 5 1/2 Weeks and Counting

My flawless Prius has been in the shop for over 5 weeks now. It went in for a couple SSCs and a few minor fixes, all covered under warranty. They've run into tons of computer & electrical problems. Fortunately, I was out of town for most of it but it looks like I'll be getting a rental, now. Fun stuff, huh?

WHAT!!! This doesn't make a lick of sense.

Florida or Texas?

They are providing the rental?

What kind? If it were only one of the other hybrids.

I'm trying to work it out now with them. They weren't sure they could give me one since I'm under 21 but my own insurance covers rentals. I don't see why they'd give me anything more than the cheapest they can find.

I know how you feel. I had a vehicle of mine in the shop for that long once to repair a radio. I was losing $35 bucks a day in useage (It was a leased vehicle) and they refused to give me a rental. I hope you get yours back soon. Tell the mechanic to stop drinking coke while working over the fuse box.

I was just told an hour ago that my FEH will need to stay overnight at the service department. I dropped it off at 7 AM sharp this morning and the earliest they think it'll be ready is noon tomorrow.

The KICKER?

I only brought it in to get my radio antenna replaced (antenna broke off at the threads as I attempted to remove it) and to get to little rubber pieces replaced. Couldn't get simpler a service ticket, and yet... 2 days. GRRRRR... and, no, it has nothing to do with the fact it's a hybrid. I asked. They're just awful at prioritizing and apparently not paying for enough service techs.

Well, finally got my car back. They gave me a FORD TAURUS in the meanwhile! I spent three hours getting it, took it home, and didn't look at it until I went back to the dealership.

At least I have my car.

Any possibility of getting a listing of the parts and procedures done on your car? It would be especially interesting to understand what was "the long pole."

Thanks,
Bob Wilson
