Default Prius Power Windows work when the car is OFF

In my 2G 2004 model, anyway.

Is this common knowledge that I just stumbled upon ?
Anybody know other electrical devices beside lights that also work ?

They don't actually "work" when the car is off. Rather, they are enabled for 20 seconds or so after you turn off the car. Once you open a door, however, the circuit is broken and the windows are disabled.

I think lights always work in cars, on or off.

I think I read in the Owners' Manual for my '05 that it lasts 45 seconds, except when opening a door as Jason said. This feature is a holdover for me from my previous car, so I discovered it rather quickly. Kinda cool huh?
