hi 07 prius owner
hi every one i bought a 07 toyota prius without the tuoring package it a great car im in the prosses of changing the rims on ti to make it look more sporty. i wish though i would of got it with the fog lights i hope i can get them down the road if any one has any ideas to let me know. i want to trick it out

My '07 Prius only gets 39-40 mpg (it is below freezing weather here now). Other wise in normal weather I get maybe 42 mpg. My '05 Prius consistently got near 48 mpg. The dealer, here in North NJ, gave me a print-out which showed nothing unusual in the engine. I am very disappointed. I have a feeling that re-programming the computer might help. Anyone?

We just got a new 07' Prius and Love it. We have had the car two weeks, still have just over half the original tank of gas they gave (sold) us at the dealership and are getting ~42MPG. We are in mild conditions in NC, which helps and we are just learning how to drive efficiently. But the one thing that is killing our MPG's is a short comute.
I really think that the new Prius looks a lot more sporty than previous years. We have the tinted windows, which helps not only the looks but will help this summer when the temperature soars into the upper 90's. Though the looks helped our decision to buy it was not the primary reason for the purchase. The environmental benefits and reduced dependency on oil/gas take the cake. My wife and I also hope that we can help lower the age demographic of the prius (Hybrids in general), being that we are both in our lower 20's. Here's to the revolution!

It was my understanding that the rims are specially designed for maximum wind drag reduction, thus helping your MPG. I doubt it would make toooo much of a difference changing out the rims, but bear that in mind.
We just bought an '07 and on our first week averaged 48mpg!!!!! We are absolutely thrilled to say the least. My husband drives it on mostly highway, with some hilly country roads to and from the highway. Even those hills didn't hurt the MPG, although with every uphill you have a downhill where you can let off the accelerator and really see that MPG gauge shoot up!

Welcome to the CLUB!
As you've already figured out, you're in for a treat. You'll especially like it on your first long distance trip. I didn't realize how much vibration and noise is gone in the hybrid. It means I can drive longer distances and not arrive "beat up."
We'd love to see you' all start tracking mileage in the database. Also, we have a FAQ with some pointers to help you get the most of the car.

Hee hee--Thanks! We actually are going to Florida (from Cincinnati) the first week of April and opted to take our Prius instead of our roomier Nissan Murano because of the HUGE gas savings we will have. I'm excited to see how it does....with both comfort and MPG. My Murano is extra "cushy" to say the least....
My husband is a very thrifty person so I'm sure he's going to suck out every bit of economy he can from this car, I'm a bit more frivilous, but even I think it's pretty neat how this car works.
