A couple months ago I realized that the electronic gear shift is crooked. The top is tilted right a bit. I had gotten the TSB service for the fuel gauge, and they replaced a computer, so when I went for my 10k service today I asked them to check it. I was told that the shift is fixed in place and could not have been tilted by the dealer.

I know from my experience installing PriusXM that the shift does appear to go pretty far back in the vehicle. But, did I really just never notice this before? Are any of yours crooked?

 

I'd have to see a picture to know what I'm comparing it to. Perhaps a picture taken by the driver seated directly in the seat from the headrest perspective. That way there's a frame of reference.

When I was at the car show a few weeks ago the Prius on display had it's shift **** removed so it wouldn't be stolen. I haven't tried removing mine, but it appeared to be a simple threaded peg. Have you tried just turning it to straighten it up?

 

Stolen?? I don't know how that would happen. When I took apart the dash while installing PriusXM, I could clearly see that it's attached pretty far in there. It can't easily be taken out or turned.

The peg (bent metal bar) was still there, just the plastic **** from the end was removed. Is it the **** that is crooked or the whole bar?
