Two things that seem like good ideas, would be:

1) A solar battery charger so that your battery can charge while the car sits.
2) Used in conjunction with a battery only switch ( already know where you can get his mod btw).

A place with several Prius mods here:

I have since learned that the current solar battery chargers aren't effective enough to do much good in an 8 hour period of time. Oh well, it will happen one of these days....

one thing, there are units that you can buy that are solar powered, they hook onto the window along w/ some weather stripping, its a little fan thing (waterproof) that pulls air out of your car.

Yeah, I've seen those in catalogs. I've thought about trying it out to see if it really make a difference. I would think using this in comination with a sunscreen would be pretty effective.

I am a big fan of the electric only mode for hybrid vehicles. There are times when I am just inching along in traffic and have to watch my mpg go down. I know if I had an electric only mode, that I could put a stop to the loss.

Well, in the Prius you go into electric only mode automatically in those situations, however I was wanting to be able to make more use of it

it'd be worth it even draggin one of the cyliders around. if the system in the HCH would run electric only, it could use its regen tech and drag a cylinder around.
