Default aaaarrrggghhh--yellow snowflake time--aaaarrrggghhh

My summer driving season has ended with the yellow snowflake displayed.
On the 04 and 05 models this symbol shows when the temperature reaches three degrees Celsius cautioning possible icy conditions.

Now for four consecutive mid Septembers this appeared on our annual mountain biking trip to the South Dakota Black Hills.

At least this year I did not have to scrape ice from the windshield!!

aaaarrrrggghh!!

Yup, here in Edmonton we've had two mornings below freezing (just) this past week. Leaves are starting to turn and falling. It's time.

Here in the Dallas area I will see some cool downs but I think it
will be Halloween before I see a snowflake.

Curious, I look forward to the challenges. Getting good mileage in hot weather means often means just not doing anything really dumb like driving 70 mph or faster. But the technical challenges of cold weather driving are much more interesting.

Solving cold weather problems would make a significant improvement in hybrid performance.

Fall's coming early this year eh? I would expect that in Edmonton but in Vancouevr, they're already changing colour too! I recall a few years ago when I was in Edmonton and when I came back to Vancouver for Thanksgiving, the leaves were still green!

And for those "Merrycans" reading Tidelands response, be aware, our Thanksgiving is in early October (the 8th this year).

Naw, your leaves are just getting bored from all the nice west coast weather.

Guess I'll be installing the upper grill block this week.

Ahh! That explains on my 06 model why the MFD always does a little "peekaboo" rolldown from the top displaying 37' F. I always thought that was an odd temperature to display a warning about.
