I think I might know the answer to this - but thought I'd ask the question anyway.My Toyota Dealer has offered the Environmental Package (Rust Proofing, Sound Proofing, and Paint & Fabric Protection) on a Prius for $698.00.My gut instinct is to say no - but I'd welcome comments either for or against. Thanks.

 

The correct answer is "no" unless you live in an area with salt encrusted cars.

Even if you live in salt encruste areas the answer is NO. A study was done years ago that proved all this stuff does nothing but make the dealership richer.

 

if you have ever worked on a car with this rustproofing crap you would never do it.

Its a pain to scrape it off the bolts before you can work.

its like wall paper, once you have removed it you will never again put it up
