A few weeks ago I took my 2006 Prius in to have a standard inspection. The guy at the dealership came back and said that both filters were pretty dirty and should be replaced. Believing I could probably find them cheaper elsewhere, I told him not to worry about it. Here's the problem, though: one of the filters was the air filter, and the other was what I remember as being an "engine filter" (it was far dirtier than the air filter), but whenever I check online for Prius filters, the only thing I can find is an air filter. I've never owned a car that needed anything besides an air filter (other than an oil filter, but that's not what this was), so I'm confused. If anyone could tell me what this other filter is, I'd be grateful.

The engine air filter is easy to find and replace.

The other filter is the air conditioner filter located behind the glove compartment in my NHW11. You have to fiddle with a couple of pins but it comes out and you can see the slot in the AC ducting.
