Here are alot of pics. I have mixed emotions about the front. The front screams a mix between Rav4 and Subaru Forester, while the back remindes me of the Outlander.

The more I look at it the more I dislike it... It looks like a RAV on steriods. I hope in real life it looks better then it does in these pictures....

I'm also still holding out overall judgement till I see what is included in the 'final production' version Vs what we hear now. I say that because I know some of what was shown as offerings in the books, order forms and web site for the 06's never made it into the final production vehicles e.g. Auto door locks.

They might have chosen the phrase "virtually unchanged" because the EPA test cycles for '08 vehicles changed. I doubt they would publish pre-'08 EPA test cycle numbers to compare it to the previous models.

Having the same battery type and same MPG and not a lot of improvment in looks, I'LL just keep my 06 HIHY. Then i will wait for the next gen prius.

That statement disappoints me, as I had really hoped for a four cylinder Lithium-ion 35 MPG option (call me crazy)...
I have watched the press release and I think this statement is taken out of context. The statement about the mileage being "virtually unchanged" was clearly part of the remarks about the Gas version. After this, the Hybrid is discussed and the words "extensively upgraded" are used. No mention is made about Fuel Economy.

With EV Mode and the Econ setting it looks like we'll have more tools at our disposal to squeeze further MPGs before we talk about other "extensive" upgrades. Very cool...

In the press release that is posted before my post, it said the '08 HiHy kept the same EPA rating of 31/27.

Now I wonder about the 5,000 lb tow cap. because it does not say if it's the regular, hybrid or both Highlanders.

At any rate, I just made up my mind to wait for the '08 HiHy in October. This seems like a better replacement for my '02 EB Explorer anyway over the '07 at this time.
