I really like it. We just bought an '06 RX400h but I'd consider adding one of these in a year or two.

I'd have to say bravo to Toyota for not emasculating the body design, per some of those concept vehicle images that were floating around. Looks like they've made the design a little edgier and a touch more masculine. My only complaint is that it now looks too much like the new RAV4.

Reading those specs, it doesn't look promising for the hope of a V4 hybrid version, given that they've made the '08 model even longer, the gas engine larger and more powerful...

I like the new design. It has more character then the 07 in my opinion. Hard to tell until I see it in person though.

It also looks like the 3rd row seat is much more functional as well.

As Bob259 mentioned previously about dropped features... go to the Toyota site and look at the interior pics of the new HH.

On the console next to the gearshifter is a button for...... ( drum roll )...'EV'.

There's not a word about it anywhere in the press release. Probably a teaser feature.

Actually, if you watch the video of the press conference release at the Chicago auto show, the spokesman does mention the EV mode. He also claims that the Hybrid system has been "extensivley upgraded", but does not go into detail.

ah, what's EV and why would I care. I take it from these references that it somehow is related to the synergy drive and if I recall may have been some type of special setting in the Prius?

I personally am much more interested in learning if the high end of the lineup actually has (normally standard) "higher-end" features (such as memory seats, power tilt wheel, etc) I don't se any references to those details

I would bet for those we would still have to look to the Lexus.

For the EV, if I understand it correctly, it allows you to run in full electric mode more often on in town driving with out the ICE coming on, thus higher fuelmileage.

I think there nice but the video said the size is bigger but the MPG will stay about the same. I will keep my 06 a few more years. Maybe the third gen hilander hybrid will have lion batts and get higher MPG,then I'll jump on it. I also think they might hybrid the rav-4 with the camry 4 cyl hybrid package !

Actually, the press release states that while the 08 will be larger, the gas milage will be "virtually unchanged". I'm betting this means a drop of a few mpg in real world conditions. We've all seen how EPA does not equal real life in most situations....

Also, there still might be hope for Lithium Ion batteries in the '08.... they haven't really specified that yet.
