I agree with the insane brightness on the radio/nav, and the habit of the climate control to constantly go into recirc (may get the dealer to program this). It would be nice if ECO mode didn't go out on your under things like defrost.

One I haven't seen posted is I dislike the maximum range of the eco meter in the dash, which is about 5.7l/100km. (40mpg for you U.S. folk) I exceed this all the time, so don't know what mileage I am getting most the time I am driving.

Later!

I wish it showed elapsed time since the engine was turned on. Trip Information will show this for trips less than 30 minutes, but I can't seem to find an actual "hours:minutes" display anywhere.

The smart keyless entry system won't let you lock the doors for a number of (valid) reasons, but it won't tell you what the reason is. It needs to say in the dashboard display.

I'd like to "second" the complaints about the non-sticky ECO and Recirc buttons and the strange position of the ECO button.

Well technically the beeps are the codes (and I don't know anybody who's memorise what the beeps each mean) as well as a display in the instrument cluster that tells you

e.g.

MOONROOF OPEN
DRIVER'S DOOR OPEN (or the other doors)
SHIFT TO P RANGE

That's all I can think of

I can share your pain. The eco in the US cars is inverse (Miles/gallon or MPG instead of liters/km), and the gauge goes to 60 MPG. But even 60MPG is not sufficient range. I frequently was able to drive on a slight downhill or even on some smooth level roads and see it at 60 MPG, so I didn't know how much better that that it was either.

The only answer is a Scan Gauge or a Dash Hawk.

To cite an example, on our recent vacation my wife left her jacket in the trunk with her fob in the pocket. I couldn't lock the doors with my fob in my possession (long beep) and there was no indication on the dash I could see.

Default Another vote for stoopid "fuzzy logic" AUTO climate setting

I HATE it when my Camry decides through it's artificial "intelligence" that I want air on my feet, rather than on my face. Cycle through back to air on my face, and then notice that the fan speed's not changing. Hit the AUTO button and it GOES BACK TO FLOOR setting! GRRRRRRRRR!

Other annoyances of the climate control system: ) Taking off ECO for no apparent reason (No, I didn't put the temp **** to MAX), 2) Taking off RECIRC for no apparent reason.

My conclusion: the "fuzzy logic" needs to be a little sharper, and the "artificial intelligence" needs to be a little more intelligent.

AFAIK, changing the air direction, fan speed or front defrost will turn off AUTO. When in AUTO, it insists on controlling fan speed, recirc, and direction. So you can't have it both ways -- you can let it control everything or you have to set everything manually.

I've found it annoying in a similar light when wanting floor+defrost to keep the window clear in humid weather. You lose all automatic control. Maybe I just can't get used to this complicated system -- I've always had a manual system except for an '86 Taurus, and I don't recall it being so obnoxious!

If you change the fan speed, the mode is still in automatic. If you change the mode, I believe the fan also goes to manual.

It's not gonna know if the fob's in the trunk or on the seat or in the glovebox.

I guess so. The manual shows four receivers with the trunk appearing out of range of all four of them!
