What I learned in my first year.
Home Depot / Lowes: Truck rental for $19.95/75 minutes. Who needs to carry around a huge trunk all the time!
You might want to check google for local laws and bring a printout of the customizable features so they can't pull a fast one.
Keep in mind your TCH speedometer is about 3 MPH slower than actual speed, per factory calibration and it's done on purpose.
I can confirm this, because when my GPS says 71, my speedometer says 73, though in my case it's a 2mph difference.

This explains why I feel like I'm crawling through our neighborhood! The limit is 25, which I respect religiously, so I am really going 22. I had no idea. I have a lot to learn about this car.
How does it tell you that you were "Excellent" ? Obviously, I have not been excellent once in my first month!!

When your trip MPG is above 35. The MFD will show you the MPG and flash excellent. It took me awhile to notice it.
Mine is about 2-3 MPH off in the other direction (GPS shows car moving faster than speedometer). However, my question is why is it incorrectly calibrated "on purpose" in the first place?

Sorry, I am mistaken. My speedometer is 2mph faster than my GPS.
That should be obvious. Toyota is reducing it's chances of being litigated. In todays "no fault" society with no one accepting responsibility for their actions. If Toyota produced automobiles that had even 1% of their spedometers inaccurate (reading too low) there would be lawsuits out the wazoo. So Toyota has built in a cushion of error on the safe side.
Oh say can you see....Gosh I love this country!
