Question Vehicle Setting Options

While I was at the dealer today, the service manager hooked a laptop up to my TCH. To my suprise, there were numerous pages of settings that could be toggled on/off. Does anybody know where I can find a listing of all the settings that can be changed via the laptop?

You will need the TIS software to do this. The software is not available to the general public.

Good question. Even if we can't get the software it would be nice to know what things are possible to change.

Visit www.Toyotaiguide.com

Go to "Other Features" and select "Customizable Electronic Features"
You will see the list of things you can have you toyota tech change for you.
I had my service tech turn off the seatbelt buzzer.

The iGuide is a great resource!

EDIT

Here is a link to a pdf I just came across.

I'm not sure how acurate it is though. The option to operate the moon roof does not work for me.

The service manuals have all the settings that can be adjusted by a service technician. A few of them can be adjusted by the public, but not many. The site below used to have all the service manuals available online, but it appears to be down right now:

Has anyone been asked to pay for having these settings changed? My wife took our TCH in for it's first service, and I asked her to have two settings changed: eliminate the delay in turning off the headlights once the car is shut off, and increase the sensitivity of the automatic headlights. They told her that it would cost $42.50 to change the sensitivity of the headlights! But they said they thought they could eliminate the delay in turning off the headlights for free (??). My wife called me to ask if I should pay them to change sensitivity, and I told her no, just have them make the changes that are free. They then proceeded to make neither change, and put 5W30 oil in the engine despite the fact that she watched the person she talked to write 5W20 in big letters, then highlight it.

I'd like to say I won't be returning, but I foolishly bought the pre-paid service for the first three years. The service manager will be getting a very unpleasant phone call from me tomorrow!

WOW!! Some dealers think they are the only ones in the world!
I bought my TCH in another town for the same reason.
I took my car back to have some 'we owe' stuff done and asked them to turn off the seatbelt buzzer. They said it couldn't be done. I showed them the page in tha manual that said the dealer had to do it. They plugged in the scan tool, found the setting, turned it off, and I drove away without a charge.

No reason to charge anything for tweaking the settings!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the first set of changes should be free. They are at both of the dealers i've been to.
