Angry Truck...ding...crap

My windshild got dinged. ((Insert here all nasty words known to mankind.))

So far, the thing has limited crazing, which really surprises me given the number of posts late last year about cracking TCH windshilds. I don't see any difference (good or bad) between this ding and the countless friquin' dings I've gotten in other cars' windshields...only my scream was louder.

I guess my TCH is no longer new.

Yeah...my new TCH ended after a bird exploded on my bumper and left a gouge

Yeh, you've been christened. Happens to us all eventually. My windshield chipped last year, first week I had the car. So far it hasn't spread and I don't even notice it anymore

I got my inaugural windshield ding two weeks ago, just below the driver's line of sight. Check your insurance policy. Mine provides for minor windshield ding repairs with no deductible.

My windshield took a hit from a rock thrown from a truck a couple of weeks ago. The resulting star crack was about the size of a nickel, 3 inches left of center, about 6 inches up from the bottom. I called my insurance's 800 number for glass coverage about 30 minutes later, got connected directly to Safelite, and scheduled the repair at the local shop for 8 am the next morning.

My heart sank with the crack, but my spirits lifted after the repair. In almost all lighting conditions, the crack is all but invisible. After a couple of days of bug guts, I have to search for the pin-point that was left. And my out-of-pocket cost was zero, as my insurance waived the $100 deductible, and paid for the $63 repair.

There's always the ClearPlex option:

Just like mom always said "Careful!" right after you smacked your head.
