Toyota iPod interface

Re: Toyota iPod interface
Check out this thread and post. Also check out http://diceelectronics.com/. Looking at the latest updates on the VAIS forums, the browsing is still an issue on Toyota Gen 5 NAVs. The Toyota OEM part for iPhone/iPod only works in lieu of SAT, whereas DICE and VAIS show use the external CD changer input, allowing them to be used side by side with SAT (XM or Sirius).

Re: Toyota iPod interface
Toyota just released PN PT233-47100(NOT READILY AVAILABLE) which is a new iPod/USB interface for the 2010 Prius. I went out on a limb and decided to buy one. After trying this it did not work. Will have to buy a 2010 Prius now I guess.

Re: Toyota iPod interface
Toyota's Interface Kit for iPod PT545-00082(Older PN) is available for use on most current Toyota SAT-Ready radio systems. Among the list is the 2007-2010 Camry and the 2008-2010 Prius. Which makes me think that the new USB/iPod interface PN PT233-47100 that works on the 2010 Prius will also work on the 2007 and up Camry SAT-Ready radios and Nav units just as well. I will post more when I find out.

Re: Toyota iPod interface , P/N ?
I'm not that impressed with the interface through the navigation. You access the iPod through the satellite mode (I believe you will lose satellite capability). When you go into satellite mode there are six presets showing. Preset 1 allows you to search by play list. Preset 2 allows you to search by artist. Preset 3 allows you to search by album and so on. Once you select how you want to search then you can scroll through your list. Up at the top of the navigation screen there is only one row of text that you use to scroll through your list. You can only view one artist/album/play list at a time AND not all the characters show.
To scroll through the play lists you just use the tune **** (the **** you would use to tune radio stations and such). You can also use the up and down arrow on your steering wheel. It's a slow process especially if you have a lot of music.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

I go mine installed and the Unit P/N is: PU069-32777-G5
the front panel bottem left has a code its: E7012.
Now the questions, which P/N was that IPOD cable (PT233-47100) and does it charge your IPOD ?
thanxs, Harvey.

Would you happen to be so kind to tell me which model of NAv you have ?

I also don't know the part number for the cable because I had them take it out. It was completely worthless IMO. It did charge the iPod and the iPod stayed in my glove box.
Hopefully that helps.
