By not engaging the A/C, which is all-electric, you're reducing the load on the battery by nearly 2kW when the cells are in their "dormant" state, which can cause a big voltage dip and trigger a code. I would encourage continued practice for at least the first few minutes of driving or at least after the first significant stop where you get a little regen. Also helps to flush the hot air out of the car.
