Is there a trick to removing the dash speaker grilles?
I want to pull them out and put some felt on them where they seem to rub the windshield (and squeak), but I am not sure how to pull them out without damaging them.
Has anyone tried pulling them out?
Thanks!

spiff72 — No, I haven't tried removing the tweeter grilles, but here's a document from the Repair Manual that indicates how they are held on.

Thanks for that document, Stan. If I read it right, you need to disengage the hooks on the rear facing side first, and then lift and tilt forwards. I want to do this before it gets warm out, since the squeaks seem to improve in warmer weather.
spiff72 — My interpretation is basically similar to yours. First, release the 6 claws along the rearward (i.e., towards the rear of the car) and side edges of the grille (3 on each edge). Then tilt the grille upward at its rear edge — the 2 clips will release as you do this. Finally, lift the grille out towards the rear of the car.
