TCH Makes US Gov Top Ten FE List
"Honda and Toyota made seven of the 12 vehicles listed in the top 10. The new Toyota Camry Hybrid made its debut at No. 3, with 40 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway."

Go to this web page to check out diesels MPG. Many for 2006 are good. Only the VW Toureg Diesel for 2007 so far.

On a similar note, today's (10-17-06) Wall Street Journal regards the TCH as a barometer of U.S. consumers' attitudes about fuel economy in the wake of falling gas prices. The WSJ said, "If Toyota's Camry hybrid misses sales targets, it could be a sign President Bush is right to be worried about the resolve of Americans to end oil addiction." The articles goes on to say that the next several months will be a test, but so far hybrid sales (Prius, Escape, etc.) remain strong.
