...Q: My 2007 Toyota Camry hybrid's battery has a 100,000-mile warranty. I have been told I need to trade in the car before hitting 100,000 miles because its value will drop a lot at 100,000 miles. Is this the case? If so, how many miles in advance of 100,000 should I trade it in? I love the car and it currently has 50,000 miles.

A: It is true that your hybrid is likely to lose resale value rapidly as its mileage approaches 100,000 miles. If you are truly worried about this, you should trade it in as soon as possible. However, there is no reason to believe the battery will suddenly fail after reaching 100,000 miles. You should not be in a hurry to trade the car in if it is running and you are happy with its performance...

Re: Resale Values?
They are using the TCH for cabs in NYC. I rode in one over the summer. I asked the driver how he likes the car. He said everyone loves it and it's the best thing to happen to the taxi industry. He had over 200k miles on the car and no issues.
