Question Remote Starter - Worth It?

We just ordered our Barcelona Red 2007 Camry Hybrid!

Ordered every option and it came to $1k over Invoice ($2k under MSRP). It will be here in 1-2 weeks.

We are considering the Remote Start option to be installed by the dealer. We want to be able to warm the interior during the winter. But, on all of our test drives that gas engine never ran while we were parked. So, would the remote start even accomplish what we want?

We test drove a lot of cars. These Camry's are special. You knew that.

Waste of good gas and just one more thing to break if you ask me.

Yeah, but sometimes cooling your car before you get in it (100+ degree heat) can be a BIG plus.

As for the gas - we get 38+mpg - whats a little waste once in awhile?

The gas engine starts within 30 seconds of you pressing the start button in cold weather and continues to run until it is fully warmed up.

So, yes the remote starter would accomplish what you want.

I've used the remote start the last few mornings because the car was frosted over due to the cold. It warms the car and melts the frost from the windows nicely. You just have to remember to set the temp the night before.
