Angry Really funky noise......

Today I hard-wired the audio from my Sirius Starmate into the "AUX" input in the TCH. I had previously just been listening through the FM radio. When I turned it on (with the car off or in ACC) the sound was AWESOME! A huge improvement. Once the car was on, though, there was this horrible static-y whining noise audible during quiet patches of programming. It was there on all the channels, and disappeared when I went back to the FM frequency. Has anyone else had this happen?

This has been commented on a number of times in this forum, but usually in relation to an mp3 player. There is a filter you can get from Crutchfield that completely eliminates the problem. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-6mblbCB...or&i=127SNI135

Go into the Menu option on your Starmate......look for FM settings....turn OFF the FM transmitter! It could be causing interference. If that doesn't work..then it's usually the flux capacitor.

Now, don't rush out and buy that PAC SNI-1/2.5 Noise Filter until you've talked to me. I have an extra one, that I'd love to sell ya. I too have my Sirius receiver plugged into the AUX jack - the filter works very well to remove the noise.

I have a filter I can sell you too!
I ended up getting an iPod interface that connects to the rear of the radio so I don't need the filter anymore.

As far as the FM modulator goes...I did have it on for comparison. Will try turning it off. Thanks.
