No, no, no...use the recommended tire pressure that is on the door frame if you are running the exact size that was put on the car by the MFG. That size is also on the same sticker on the door frame.

DON'T READ THE TIRE! THAT IS THE MAX. COLD TIRE PRESSURE THE TIRE CAN HANDLE SAFELY! THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU SHOULD RUN IT AT DAILY!

The tire pressure recommended is for 1 to 2 people in the car at an average weight of 185lbs. avg. Past 375 pounds, tire pressure should be increased a bit to accomodate for the load and weight distribution on the tires. Over inflate them and your tires will wear prematurely in the middle of the tread. Yes, your rolling resistance will go down slightly, but you will spend the money you saved in gas on new tires. Underinflate them and the sides wear out faster, you get crappy gas milage and you get to buy to tires on top of that.

Don't take avereages and don't get creative, use the chart in your manual. The MFG spent a good deal of time and research to create it and advise on it.
