[poll] What tire pressure do you use?

Re: [poll] What tire pressure do you use?
Are you equating "MFR recommended" with the max pressure printed on the sidewall?

You should also add a final category for "oh yeah I should check my tire pressure soon!". Hehe. I know I'm in that one, I keep letting it slip. Been a while since I last inflated my tires a bit.

I think that is what chestr had in mind, and makes more sense by my way of thinking. Otherwise you have to do two polls, one for those whose car has the michelins, and one for those whose car has the bridgestones. Otherwise, the numbers become mixed and less useful.

Re: [poll] What tire pressure do you use?
There is no recommended pressure on the sidewall of any tire I've seen - only a maximum. The only recommended pressure is the one on the label usually found on the B pillar of the car, and is unrelated to the tire manufacturer or type. That is the only standard figure that I can see any discussion of tire over-inflation referring to.
I can see two figures of interest coming out of this:
No. of pounds over recommended pressure for the vehicle (32 lb. for the 2007 TCH, front and rear).
No. of pounds under the maximum pressure for the tire.

look on the inside of the drivers door and always use the Mfg. recommended pressures...unless you are loading the car with people or luggage, then follow the table in the owners manual.

Re: [poll] What tire pressure do you use?
But, isn't there a difference between the tires recommended pressure?
I don't want to be difficult, but, if I create a new poll, I want to do it right (this time).

Re: [poll] What tire pressure do you use?
I think the car just states a generic "recommended" pressure, but the different tires can safely handle different tire pressures. I believe (vague memory from existing thread somewhere) the Bridgestone max is something like 44 psi, and the Michelins are more like 50? But Toyota probably still recommends 32 regardless of tire brand/model.
So the scale from "recommended" to "max" is different between the two tires. I'd say try a %age scale maybe but that's way too much math for most of us for casual posts lol.
