If I want the clean fuel plate to use the HOV lanes I only have 6 characters to play with. I tried BGREEN, B GRN and BE GRN but they're all taken.
I also tried
GRNCAR - taken
CLNCAR - taken
In desperation I tried "40 MPG" - also taken

Orcrone, I have a feeling that with all the Prii and such around NoVA there are slim pickins left. You could try NOPEC though.
Does anyone know if theres a way to check the availability of plates in PA?

HIMPG or H1MPG - "HIMPG", "HI MPG" taken, but "H1 MPG" available.
NOHUMR - Taken, but that's OK. Sounds like I don't have a sense of humor.
However, "NO HMR" and "NOHMMR" are available.
LESSCO - Available, but it took me too long to figure out what it means.
HYBRID or HYBR1D "HYBRID", "HYBRD" & "HRBR1D" taken
SIPGAS - Taken
Good ideas. Don't want to honk off the hummer drivers. They're a lot bigger than me.
H1 MPG is a possibility.
