Default Ordered my TCH

Well I went down to the local dealer last night and negotiated 1% over dealer invoice for a TCH fully loaded (NV, SR, LA, FE, CQ and floor mats). It's being built and will be here in two to four months. I can't wait to get it...

Wow this is a tough room. I thought I did pretty well and am happy with the price I'm paying LOL

Oh and I forgot to mention that I ordered it in Blue Ribbon with Ash interior.

I do have a quick question though. I thought I had read that Toyota is now building the TCH in Kentucky. Can anyone confirm that?

Excellent choice!

I got my TCH (blue ribbon/ash), fully loaded back in early September of last year. I love this car and the Nav is endlessly fun to mess with. The factory leather in mine was perfect and the factory moonroof works flawlessly. Don't get fooled into having these installed as port or after market options. They are crap. Just read what others have said in this forum. I only wish I had more of an opportunity to use the moonroof here in Oregon. This summer will be fun!

My TCH was made in Japan, but I believe that Kentucky made TCH’s started showing up late last year. It should be a great car regardless of its factory of origin. Good job ordering what you want and being willing to wait. I ordered mine on July 5, and drove away with one September 8. I was not going to be denied the $2600 Federal and $1500 Oregon State (that's $4100 total) tax breaks for being an early adopter.

I added a rear-lip spoiler, body side moldings and door sill enhancement plates (installed all of these myself). All weather floor mats were also a must since my carpeted mats were dirt magnets. They look good also.

You’re going to love yours when it arrives!

Hopefully before April 1 or you'll take a $650 ding in the Federal Tax Credit.

Hey Schmidtj...for some reason I thought the tax credit ended December 31. I guess this isn't true? So if my car is delivered by the end of March I can still get the $1300 tax credit? Wow I am totaly happy now if this is true. I went into the dealer thinking the tax credit was gone and was going to negotiate as such...I thought I went into the dealer totaly prepared, now I find out I was missing a piece of the puzzle LOL

So I guess the dealer will give me all the information about the credit and what to do?

Before April it's $1300 after that it's $650 until (I think) Oct 1.
At any rate don 't expect the dealer to do squat. MAKE SURE YOUR INVOICE SHOWS THE WORD HYBRID NEXT TO THE WORD CAMRY in case you are audited. You claim it on your income tax return. What I don't know is since you are taking delivery in '07 you may not be able to claim it until you file your 2007 return in 2008. Check with your tax advisor.

Hey, if I'm audited, can't I just show them the car?

Does that prove when the car was put into service? IRS wants proof it was put into service during the required date range.

Not only that but I think the IRS has up to seven years to audit your tax returns. What happens if you don't own the vehicle (for whatever reason) when you get audited?

I wont' be able to claim the tax credit on my 06 taxes because it will be put into service after December 31 2006. I'll just have to wait a year to use the credit. No biggie though as long as I can take ownership by March 31 2007. I would much rather have the $1300 credit instead of the $650.

For those of you that do your own taxes you will need to fill out form 8910 "Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit" and place your results on line 55 on your 1040.

2 - 4 months seems a bit long. I ordered mine in early November and received it mid December. That included 12 days in transit from KY to CA.
