I wouldn't recommend that... You have two issues. that's .5L less oil to pick up the crap in the engine. Second, you don't want the oil pump dry pumping on a steep hill. I've never seen the sump in the TCH, but I have seen several designs that will go dry if it's less than the centerline on the dipstick.
